The Experience

More Than a Retreat Venue
A Place That Invites You to Slow Down

Set above the crystal waters of Kapsali Bay, on the timeless island of Kythira, Porto Delfino Retreat offers a rare setting where nature, simplicity, and meaningful connection come together.

Far from crowded destinations and busy schedules, guests are invited to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with themselves, their community, and the present moment.

Whether you are hosting a yoga retreat, teacher training, wellness immersion, or transformational gathering, Porto Delfino provides the space and support for experiences to unfold naturally.

Here, days move with a different rhythm: morning practice overlooking the sea, nourishing meals shared with new friends, hidden beaches, village walks, unforgettable sunsets, and moments of stillness that stay with you long after you leave.

Because a retreat is not simply about where you go.

It’s about what becomes possible when you arrive.

Porto Delfino Retreat

Porto Delfino Retreat

Porto Delfino Retreat is a space created for meaningful retreat experiences.

Designed with retreat leaders in mind, it offers more than accommodation—providing dedicated practice spaces, thoughtful hospitality, and the support needed for retreats to unfold with ease.

For teachers and facilitators, Porto Delfino offers a trusted environment to gather, inspire, and guide their communities.

For guests and participants, it provides an opportunity to step away from the demands of everyday life, reconnect with themselves, and experience the timeless beauty of Kythira.

With curated island experiences, seamless logistics, and a dedicated on-site team, every retreat is supported from planning to execution—allowing both hosts and guests to fully immerse themselves in the experience.

Because the most memorable retreats are not defined by schedules or destinations alone, but by the people, moments, and shared experiences that stay with us long after the journey ends.

The island

Why Kythira?

Kythira sits quietly between the Aegean and the Ionian seas, away from the usual island routes. Because of this, it has remained deeply authentic.

For centuries, Kythira lived slightly outside the main currents of history. Influenced by ancient Greek, Byzantine, and Venetian cultures — yet never fully absorbed by any — the island developed a strong, independent character with many layers.

In Greek mythology, Kythira is closely linked to Aphrodite, known as Aphrodite Kythereia. According to tradition, she rose from the sea near Kythira, giving the island lasting associations with beauty, love, harmony, and quiet transition.

The landscape is unexpectedly wild: waterfalls, deep gorges, hidden beaches, open horizons, strong winds, and migratory birds passing between Europe and Africa. It feels less like a destination and more like a living place.

Kythira is known for its thyme honey and simple, honest cuisine — olive oil, seasonal vegetables, herbs, homemade breads and rusks, local cheeses, and recipes passed down through generations. Food here is about nourishment and sharing, not excess.

The people of Kythira have a deep connection to the land and their roots. Hospitality is sincere and unpretentious. Life respects time, conversation, and community.

Many visitors say the same thing after leaving:

Something shifted.

Better sleep. Clearer thoughts. A sense of grounding.

Kythira doesn’t overwhelm — it settles you.
